Location: Remote, but based within and across Sub-Saharan Africa

Role overview

We seek proactive and entrepreneurial Business Development Agents to identify and cultivate new business opportunities within Sub-Saharan Africa. Ideal candidates will have a deep understanding of local agricultural markets and a passion for driving sustainable development.

Key responsibilities

  • Market expansion: Identify and evaluate new markets, clients, and partners to expand Aspuna’s footprint in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Partnership development: Build and maintain relationships with local stakeholders, including farmers, cooperatives, NGOs, and government agencies.
  • Opportunity analysis: Assess potential business deals by analysing market strategies, deal requirements, and financials.
  • Strategic planning: Develop and implement strategies to enter new markets and enhance existing operations.
  • Contract negotiation: Negotiate and close business deals, ensuring alignment with Aspuna’s mission and values.
  • Reporting: Regularly update business development activities, market trends, and competitor analysis.

Qualifications and skills

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Agriculture, Economics, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years in business development, sales, or a related role within the agricultural sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
  • Skills:
    • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
    • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
    • Proficiency in Google Workspace.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Fluency in English and knowledge of local languages are advantageous.
